Plants in this zone require a minimum of 4 hours of 1,000 FTC bright direct light. If your plant has a collection of dark or bleached spots on the leaves, it may be overexposed—requiring indirect light instead.

Indirect light is bright enough to cast a shadow—yet the edges may be fuzzy. Found near north and east-facing windows or shaded south and west-facing ones. Plants thrive with a few hours +500 FTC light. If your plant's leaves are yellow or pale, they may require more light per day.

Refers to spaces in your home that contain medium to low indirect sunlight typically sourced from north-facing windows. Under these conditions, when you hold your hand to the light, your hand won’t cast much of a shadow. In this zone, plants thrive with a few hours of 100-500 FTC indirect light per day. Some of these plants can survive in 25 - 100 FTC low light, more light will enable them to grow faster.
